Borgo di Pietrafitta successfully provides the agritourism experience through the comfort of apartment suites in an upscale facility located just a few miles away from Florence, the city known as the pearl of the Renaissance and one of Italy's most beautiful and prestigious cities.
From the medieval village where our facility is located, you can easily reach Castellina as you set out to discover the essence of Tuscany by getting lost in the timeless setting of the panoramic country routes that stretch out to Radda and Gaiole, ancient strongholds set along the Chianti route.
The inn is located less than 20 kilometers (12.4 miles) south of Greve in Chianti, a town which boasts art galleries and bookshops, and it is also known as the capital city of flavor. Here, you should not miss sampling some fine wine and visiting the interesting market at Piazza Matteotti.
Traveling through the endlessly charming hills of the Chianti where the earth silently inhales the passing of time, you can reach the historic city center of Siena - a UNESCO World Heritage Site that features the amazing Piazza del Campo and its cathedral, an absolute masterpiece of Italian gothic architecture.
Borgo di Pietrafitta is located only a few minutes away from the Via Chiantigiana, Monteriggioni and Volterra, the Castles at Brolio and Spaltenna, Pienza, Montalcino and Montepulciano, outlet centers, "The Mall" and Prada; the 13th-century town of San Gimignano is located about 1 hour away.
By Train. From the train station of Santa Maria Novella in Florence, rent a car and drive to the Firenze/Siena bypass (tangenziale). Then follow directions ‘By Car.’
By Air. Florence's ‘Amerigo Vespucci’ airport is located 53 km (33 miles) away. Rent a car at the airport, then take highway A1 in direction of Rome, exit at Firenze Certosa, take the Firenze/Siena bypass, and follow the directions ‘By Car’.
By car. Coming from the North on highway A1 in direction of Rome, exit at Firenze Certosa and take the Firenze/Siena bypass; exit at San Donato in Poggio, turn left on SP 101 towards Castellina in Chianti. Once you arrive in Castellina, make a left at the first intersection and take SR 222 towards Greve in Chianti; after approximately 4 km (2.5 miles) you will see the sign to ‘Borgo di Pietrafitta’ on your right.
Coming from the South, take highway A1 and exit at Bettolle/Siena/Valdichiana. Continue along the bypass (tangenziale) towards Florence and exit at Siena Nord; follow the signs to Castellina in Chianti and drive along the panoramic Via Chiantigiana (SR222); go past Castellina and on to Greve in Chianti for approximately 4 km. You will see the sign to ‘Borgo di Pietrafitta’ on your right.
