Autumn in Chianti
Every Season is perfect for a visit of Tuscany, but it is common opinion that autumn is the best period to discover the colors , the perfumes and the flavors of Chianti.
While the grape picking ends and we get ready for the olive harvest, the tree leaves turn yellow, red and brown creating an incredible and charming landscape, contrasting with the green of the evergreen trees. At the same time temperatures slightly lower down and get mild and pleasant for a stroll in the open air, letting you explore the enchanting medieval hamlets or discover the renowned wineries and olive oil farms.
Even our table is subjected to the influence of the autumn changes: from summer light dishes, we move to more nourishing meals like polenta with mushrooms, wild game, our bread soup Ribollita and our chestnut cake Castagnaccio, while plums, peaches and melons make way for pears, figs and grape.
To cap it all, Autumn is a season full of events and exhibits throughout Chianti hills. For more information, please check the event section on www.wechianti.com or www.chianti.com.
